Using Neurosky technology, which apparently on the forefront of brain – computer interfacing, they have their own line of headsets and games for PCs. PLX has created a headset that can read your brain thoughts, and translate that into actual actions on your iPhone. Xwave has a free iPhone App that tests your ability to relax, or focus, move a ball or change its colours (Don’t be confused by the picture below, the ‘ball’ is entirely virtual inside the App).

While that seems to be the extent of its usefulness (or lack thereof) now, they’re opening up their API to allow other developers to come up with other Apps that use this info so, presumably, there will be a whole host of ‘Brain Apps’ flooding the iTunes store once this product is out, in October. It’s not even priced crazy high, at $99 USD.

Just in time for The Vampire Diaries‘ second season premiere, Buzz Sugar chatted with Katerina Graham, who plays Bonnie on the series. She spilled the beans on whom she thinks Elena should be with and a possible love connection between Bonnie and a certain sexy vampire (though she played it very, very coy). Graham dished on the new werewolves, and also revealed her fever for a young man named Justin Bieber.

BuzzSugar: What are you most excited about in the upcoming season?
Katerina Graham: I’m really excited about the season premiere, honestly. There have been so many episodes shot after that – we’re on episode six – but I’m really dying to see the season premiere, I’m just dying!

Buzz: Has it been weird acting with Nina Dobrev as Katherine and Elena now?
KG: No! Nina’s always great to do scenes with, and just because she’s a new character she’s still very much Nina Dobrev, still very much that person to work with. She’s handling Katherine really really well.

Buzz: I’ve noticed some sexual tension between Damon and Bonnie.
KG: I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Buzz: Is there any possibility of a love connection between them?
KG: I don’t know . . . that’s the answer! Next question, next question!

Buzz: Is there a chance of another love interest for Bonnie then?
KG: I think there’s a chance, but do I know if it’s going to happen? I don’t. [But] hopefully. It would be nice!

Buzz: Are we going to see Bonnie kicking ass this season?
KG: Oh, yeah, from the jump she’s kicking ass. She’s going to try – although she might not succeed sometimes, she’s going to be trying to kick ass. She’s going to be doing her thing.

Buzz: How will the addition of werewolves affect the show?
KG: It completely affects the show, it alters everything that you might have thought the show was gong to be. Werewolves are going to play such an important part this season. I know that notoriously vampires and werewolves don’t get along, so that creates a whole other conflict for everyone to deal with, and then Katherine’s back, that’s a whole other thing. It’s so interesting to see how they’re all playing with each other. And I don’t think any of them are going to play nice.

Buzz: Will Bonnie be discovering more of her powers?
KG: Absolutely. She also discovers things she can do easily and certain things she’s learning and still developing. Over time we’ll discover more of her abilities, which is always fun for the fans to see.

Buzz: Will we see Bonnie happy again?
KG: Yeah! She’s trying. I think if you lose anyone you’re going to be bummed out, and that’s OK. She’s a bit edgier this year, definitely, but she’s still got the sense of humor and I always like to find the fun in the scenes.

Buzz: Is she always going to hate Stefan, and vampires in general?
KG: I don’t know if she’s always going to hate anyone, but I definitely feel that she’ll never let certain things go. She’ll never let the things that Damon’s done go, and she’ll never let the things that Stefan’s done go. She can maybe forgive them, but Bonnie doesn’t forget anything.

Buzz: So spill, are you Team Damon or Team Stefan?
KG: I would love to see Elena with Stefan because he really loves her. [It's a] no boundaries kind of love, and I believe in that and I believe in being with the people that are like that. I think that Damon hasn’t quite gotten over his ex yet. But we’ll see; plotlines can change and I can think that by the end of the season, I could think that Stefan hasn’t earned Elena. Damon hasn’t earned Elena. I think he’s got a lot to get over, especially the things that he’s done to Jeremy and the things he’s done to the family, and the things that he’s done to me. We’ll see. He could turn out to really prove himself. I think everyone deserves another chance.

Buzz: You were recently in Justin Bieber’s “Somebody to Love” video. Do you have Bieber fever?
KG: I totally have Bieber fever! Everyone around me has Bieber fever! We looove Justin Bieber. Everyone in my music camp is big supporters of him, and vice versa. He’s been very supportive of me and my music.

Buzz: Does Bieber watch The Vampire Diaries?
KG: He’s very aware of it! I don’t know how much time he has to watch TV, but he’s aware of it. I think he would make a great vampire.

Buzz: It would be awesome if you could get him to guest star.
KG: I know, fingers crossed!

They’re getting hitched! And I repeat: Star-crossed lovers Cristina and Owen are getting married—and series creator Shonda Rhimes is here to explain why.

“The theme of this season is rebirth,” declares the Grey’s boss lady. “Everybody is sort of coming out of this very dark place [following last season's massacre]. And there was something really hopeful and beautiful about Cristina and Owen getting married.”

At the same time, Rhimes says she wanted something to symbolize that the show was undergoing a major shift in season 7. Basically, she needed a game changer. “We talked about jumping ahead in time, we talked about jumping ahead a year,” she says. “And when it came down to it, the one thing that signals the biggest change in the world is Cristina wanting to be a bride. There can be nothing more different for Cristina than Cristina wanting to be a bride.”

With the will-they-or-won’t-they tension gone, is Rhimes at all worried “Crowen” will succumb to the dreaded B-word? “It’s really hard for Cristina and Owen to be boring,” Rhimes argues. “If Mer and Der are a lighter couple, Cristina and Owen are so fraught with their darkness and their twistiness that I can’t imagine them getting boring ever.”

Meanwhile, Sam Trammell (Sam Merlotte) says “somebody in Sam’s camp is in big trouble,” but wouldn’t specify if that someone is little brother Tommy. ”This season leaves everyone with a bunch of cliffhangers, especially with my storyline. There’s something very serious, very hardcore that happens.”

As for next season, Alcide fans already know that Manganiello, now a series regular, will be back. “[Creator] Alan [Ball] and the writers are busy writing Season 4 right now, so I’m dying to find out what happens,” he said. And Lauren Bowles (wiccan Holly) promised, “You will be seeing me a lot next season. As Alan has announced, next year is the year of the witch.”

The Jesus-Lafayette may also heat up. “What they’ve written, there’s a lot of sparks going on,” says Kevin Alejandro. “Whatever happens next season should be pretty explosive.”

iTunes 10 with Ping Social Music Network

The new iTunes 10 update brings a new iTunes application icon, a few interface enhancements, and a new social media initiative called “Ping”.

The biggest change was the new iTunes Ping social media network which is open to 160 million iTunes users instantly. Ping is a social network for music, like FaceBook and Twitter, where users can follow and be followed and music recommendations can be passed around.

Users can also upload videos and photos all from within iTunes and Ping is further accessible on iPhone and iPod touch.

As usual, if you’re jailbroken or plan to jailbreak, it is best to avoid the iTunes 10 update until further notice.

The new Apple TV has a built-in power supply, HDMI, optical audio, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi, all packed into a device that is a quarter of the size of the previous generation hardware.

“It’s a fourth the size,” Jobs said. “You can hold it in the palm of your hand.”

Features

The CEO said that the new Apple TV does away with concerns of storage, as it is based on a rental model rather than purchasing. Users can rent first-run HDTV movies for $4.99, while single episodes of TV shows in HD will be available for 99 cents from Fox and ABC.

“We think the rest of the studios will see the light and get on board pretty fast,” Jobs said.

Users can also stream content from an iOS device running version 4.2 or later. Jobs demonstrated streaming the movie “Up,” instantly from an iPad over Wi-Fi.

The new Apple TV also offers access to Netflix streaming, YouTube videos, and photos from Flickr. Content can also be streamed from a Mac or PC, and from a MobileMe account. The new Apple TV will ship later this month.

Other features, according to Apple, include:

• Less clutter with HDMI: Play audio and video though a single HDMI connection.

“The new Apple TV, paired with the largest selection of online HD movie and TV show rentals, lets users watch Hollywood content on their HD TV whenever they want,” Jobs said in a press release. “This tiny, silent box costing just $99 lets users watch thousands of HD movies and TV shows, and makes all of their music, photos and videos effortlessly available on their home entertainment system.”

iOS 4.1

The first thing that was announced is that all of the bugs have been fixed!

That includes the proximity sensor on the iPhone 4, Bluetooth bugs across the iPod touch and iPhone, and lastly the much talked about iPhone 3G performance issues have been fixed.

HDR

iOS 4.1 is also delivering a new feature called High Dynamic Range Photos (HDR).

HDR is a new camera-based feature where the device camera takes three photos at the same time when taking a photo of something. The three photos taken are a under-exposure, normal, and over-exposure photo.

When these three photos are taken, the three are then combined to make the best quality photo. What this does for photos is increase/reduce shadow or brightness and reveals much more detail in the photos.

HD Video & Game Center

iOS 4.1 is also delivering HD video uploading over WiFi to YouTube for example and also the new Game Center.

Game Center is Apple’s version of Microsoft’s Xbox Live where users can play multiplayer games, challenge friends, compare scores, and be matched against anyone of similar skill in a game.

iOS 4.1 is available for iPhone and iPod touch as a free download next week.

iOS 4.2

During this morning’s event Apple also provided a sneak peek of iOS 4.2!

iOS 4.2 is available for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad but the real focus is for iPad. Essentially, iOS 4.2 is bringing every single feature of iOS 4.1, such as folders and multitasking, to the iPad that the iPad can support.

Printing

iOS 4.2 is also bringing wireless printing to the iPad in the form of “Print Center”. Just like on a Mac/PC, users can view their print jobs, cancel them, and manage them right from the iPad.

AirPlay

For all three iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, iOS 4.2 is bringing a feature called “AirPlay” which is a renamed AirTunes but can stream photos and videos along with audio to your AppleTV from an iDevice over WiFi.

Don’t get a Lockwood angry. You won’t like them when they’re angry. In The Vampire Dairies‘ September 9 premiere, Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) is surprised to see his long-absent, black sheep of the family Uncle Mason (Taylor Kinney) turn up for the funeral of his dad, the mayor. But a bigger surprise comes when Mason drops the bomb that werewolfism runs in the Lockwood bloodline!

“Mason has learned to harness his rage and is going to serve as a mentor to Tyler,” says Taylor. “I’ve come to teach Tyler that there are choices he can make to control his destiny as a human…or otherwise.”

Nina Dobrev (Elena/Katherine) adds, “Taylor’s been adjusting really well. I don’t envy when new people come [on set] because we’ve all already created this family bond, but everyone’s really accepted him.” The same won’t hold true in Mystic Falls, reveals Ian Somerhalder (Damon). “Mason’s a really nice guy, but Damon makes it difficult for him to be nice,” says Ian. “He really pisses Damon off.”

“Yeah, we don’t get along,” echoes Taylor. “Historically, the Salvatores haven’t gotten along with the Lockwoods for ages, and having a new Lockwood in town doesn’t sit well.”

It hasn’t been lost on him that he’s following in the werewolf paw prints of another famous Taylor —Twilight hottie Taylor Lautner. “My brother gave me a few ‘Team Jacob’ magnets to mess with me,” says Taylor, who apparently sports impressive abs of his own. “I don’t know if I stack up to Mr. Lautner, but we’ll see.”

As for competing with all those sexy werewolves on a certain HBO series, Taylor says he finds it perplexing that “every time a werewolf takes off his pants on True Blood, he transforms.” Mason’s transformation will be more traditional—dependent upon a full moon. And the actor says he’s well-equipped for his first howling scene. “I grow hair like crazy!”

First Class is said to take place in the 1960′s and will heavily play with the style of the day. Audiences will see John F. Kennedy as President and the parallel storyline of Martin Luther King and Malcolm X will play in the background. Overall, the look is said to emulate the original X-Men costumes far more than previous films have, though the film’s chronology pre-dates the First Class story in the comics, meaning that many of the expected characters (Cyclops and Marvel Girl are listed by name) will not appear.

The villain of the film is, as rumored, Sebastian Shaw (played by Kevin Bacon). January Jones’s Emma Frost will appear as the Hellfire Club’s White Queen as well.

The central focus of the film is the friendship between Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Eric Lensherr (Michael Fassbender) and how it falls apart. Xavier will not be depicted as bald or in a wheelchair for the majority of the film, though we will learn what cripples him.

AICN‘s article makes frequent James Bond comparisons, noting that the film will heavily play up the ’60s style, but with retro-future technology in a setting that spans the globe. Russia (a.k.a. the U.S.S.R.) specifically is mentioned.
